Guided Diagnostics & Methods

With increasing demands for high availability and use of current products, it is important that service and maintenance can be performed efficiently. Good maintenance extends the lifespan of production equipment and results in efficient, reliable and safe production.

Products grow in complexity, resulting in the increase of possible sources of errors, but at the same time the tolerance for downtime decreases. This means a greatly increased need for structured service and repair methods and guided diagnostics when preparing documentation for installation, operation, and service and maintenance documentation. It is also critical for the development of services marketing for aftersales. By structuring information and making it searchable, information availability increases, enabling developing a global service network.

At Condesign we have years of experience solving aftersales problems. We offer support in building a structured handling of the internal guided diagnostics and service and repair methods during product development. We can also help you analyze your product and develop fault code handling, fault probabilities at component level and additional design data preparation, and the creation of documentation to ensure that correct action can be taken immediately.

We offer systems support, guided diagnostics development, service and repair methods development, and illustration and service information production. Our experienced project manager can take responsibility for this work.

Guided Diagnostics and Service and Repair Methods for the Automotive Industry

Modern vehicles are complex to troubleshoot, service and maintain. Customers demand high availability on their vehicles, putting an increased focus on Volvo for providing accurate information at the right time, globally. The large amount of information that must be handled in combination with variations in workload has made it challenging to secure supplies in a cost-effective manner.

By establishing close cooperation, Condesign can assume a great responsibility in ensuring delivery in all areas of expertise: guided diagnostics, service and repair methods development, and documentation.

Variations in workload are handled seamlessly through a flexible staffing solution, while experience and knowledge is retained and managed. The solution provides great flexibility in staffing while ensuring that the competence is there when needed.

Production Relief and Partnership

In recent years, Volvo Parts supplies’ of aftersales material to the Volvo group has led to demands for preserving the current production quality at a lower cost. Meanwhile, the volume of documentation has drastically increased. The organisation has faced the challenge of managing the cost base and fluctuations in workload, requiring increased efficiency during implementation and when using systems and tools.

Condesign have developed a close cooperation with the organisation where we share our experiences from other industries, for example, the use of systems support. We continuously support peak production with help from our on-site resources at Volvo Parts but also via Internet connection from our offices in Hisings Backa. Condesign helps Volvo Parts develop and streamline both processes and educational content, and systems usage and virtual service and repair method use.

Volvo Parts today has a more efficient workflow through better reuse of CAD in the production of aftermarket documentation. The effectiveness per resource has increased through increased synergies between documents. A more effective use of illustrations, together with reduced text production has raised the educational quality and reduced translation costs while providing increasing opportunities for reuse.
